Shipping to Zimbabwe

Since the power sharing consortium between Robert Mugabe & Morgan Tsvangirai & the replacement of the Zimbabwean dollar by hard currencies such as the US dollar, the economy seems to be improving, there is food back in the shops & although quite expensive its available along with other consumables.
This ability to source items at home has produced a decline in our Airfreight markets to Harare & Bulawayo & although flights have the same regularity into Harare the drop in freight revenue has been reduced.
Vehicles into Zimbabwe are still a strong import market with vans, mini-buses , coaches & trucks, car imports are few due to their ability not able to create any longtime revenue.
Vehicles enter Zimbabwe via Durban & then by car transporter to Beitbridge, where clearance is effected at Beitbridge & after which the vehicles can to delivered onto their final destination in Zimbabwe being Harare, Bulawayo or Gweru. Alternatively we can ship to Maputo & the client will need to collect from Maputo & pay a bond to Mozambique customs before he can travel with the vehicle through Mozambique up to Zimbabwe, the deposit will be held by Mozambique customs for up to 90 days before its refunded. The 3rd option is to ship into Walvis Bay, Namibia , freight charges are more expensive than Durban or Maputo but there is no bond required to be lodged with customs whilst moving the vehicle up to the Zimbabwean border.
